PLANNING A GARDEN

This past weekend was a lot of fun. I spent the day at seed factory on saturday and got to hang with the lovely Joni from Lay Baby Lay. Afterwards I had dinner here with my friend Kathleen. I had thebestburger. Yum! Sunday we started working on our spring garden. Matilda helped Sam work the dirt through and I cleaned up the flower beds. We are going to start our seeds this week and have plans to build a compost bin (finally!). We picked up some lucinato kale (for green smoothies), rainbow beets, swiss chard, spring onions, cilantro, and a few others. I love having a kitchen garden full of things we eat all the time. Makes me so happy. I also LOVE seeing Matilda in the garden. She thrives on playing in the dirt, planting, walking along the side of the beds, and seeing all of the bugs and worms. She is just so adventurous and so, so much fun.

For dinner we had my brother and sister over for some seriously amazing grilled chicken tacos, homemade guacamole, and lots of chips and salsa. Love them. It was a perfect way to end the weekend.
