Our Addition
After I shared our before and afters, I realized I never shared the addition. Since the house was clean for our Home Worthy tour, I took some photos! We demoed the original laundry room so the house ended at the kitchen. We turned the laundry room into a cased opening and added the mudroom, hall to the laundry room, our bedroom, and bathroom.
Our bedroom is our sanctuary and a place we really wanted to feel like a retreat. While the neutral palette is calming to the eye, we still need to add art, window treatments, and I’d love to add some wallpaper here as well. I love that the bed that my dad and granddad made is in our home and the mid century dresser was an amazing estate sale find. That chair has made the rounds in every home and was our first major furniture purchase and I still love it. It’s sadly usually covered in laundry but what can you do. These poor plants needed some water. Lol!
The main inspiration for the bathroom was Old Edward’s Inn. We’ve had a couple of amazing getaways there together and it holds so many special memories. They use these dreamy, rich neutral colors all over the property and I just couldn’t get enough. Our friends from Costili Cabinetry created the vanities with one inspiration photo and nailed them on the first try. I love these deep soaking tub in an alcove, it just screams cozy. The pheasant art work was my Nana’s and I love it in here.
Arguably our favorite part of the addition is the wrap around porch and fireplace. You can’t live in the country without a place to take in the views and this is our spot for that. Thanks for reading!
Some progress shots, so grateful we were able to repurpose the tile I bought for the entry in the addition when we realized it was too thick to open the door! Here’s our kitty Shrimp.
