Country Home Magazine Holiday 2024

the girls in their adorable matching pajamas

Last November we had the incredible honor of having Country Home Magazine come and shoot our home for their Christmas 2024 issue! It was shot the week of Thanksgiving or after can’t quite remember and we started preparing for the shoot the summer before once my friend Lisa Mowry informed us that she would be writing the story and that it was officially happening!

lots of pressure washing and painting before the shoot!

Lacey putting the special touches in play! She brought these baskets which I bought from her because they were perfect.

the girls were tasked to decorate these cute gingerbread houses

I started chatting with the incredibly talented stylist Lacey Howard maybe a month before. We came up with a general plan that I would decorate similarly to how I had the year before and then she would add her magic touches once she arrived. We ordered several things like tinsel wreaths, ginger bread houses, and other festive touches like velvet ribbon to be shipped for her arrival. I also started holiday bulbs but too late sadly!

Lacey adding the garland to the windows!

Lacey was our first guest in the cottage and we loved having her stay on the property! The girls were so sad when she had to go back home!

adding the variegated holly! Loved this so much!

Lacey picked up all of the greenery in Birmingham and brought gobs of garland, holly, amaryllis, ranunculus and paperwhites. Our house has never felt more magical!

Treats from trader joes were the best props!

Lacey and I wrapped fake presents and she added the beautiful bows!

our bathroom and bedroom with the most gorgeous florals!!

We shot our room first so we could have our room back :) It was a two day shoot so we slept in the girls' rooms the night before.

my dad and his girlfriend save cards luckily so we used theirs for the display!

several of the details didn't make the magazine so it's fun to share them now!

Our home was shot by the talented Robert Peterson of Rustic White and we knew that Country Home had asked them to do a cover try but honestly couldn’t believe it when we saw the issue with our home and Chief proudly on the cover!!! Such an amazing experience and we hope it inspires your own decorating this year!

Huge thank you to Country Home Magazine, writer Lisa Mowry, stylist Lacey Howard, and photographer Robert Peterson!!
