7/7
If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen this post last week where I shared that I would be wearing only these seven items for seven days. I've been wanting to take a really minimalistic approach to our material life in an effort to focus on things that really matter and was so inspired after my friend Stephanie shared that she was taking the same challenge a few months back. She was moved to participate in this practice after reading Jen Hatmaker's book: 7 (no less than ten people told me I had to read it).
For this challenge I really worked off of my daily "uniform" (skinny jeans, button up, vest, boots). I knew it would be easier if I chose basics that all mixed and matched. I picked out a comfortable pair of black skinny jeans, a striped top with a modern cut, a chambray button up, black check button up, a colorful scarf (similar here), black puffer vest, and duck boots (similar here). What I found was absolute bliss. I didn't have to think hard at all about what I was going to wear and it simultaneously made me more creative in my layering. It made life so much less complicated! In short it was a really liberating exercise and I'm reading the book asap (two goals in one!).
