END OF SUMMER PICNIC
We ended up having a slightly different weekend than planned. We were originally heading to the woods to visit my grandparents for a family reunion, but the girls and I came down with something. We've been going non-stop and with preschool starting... you know the drill. We were really sad to miss it because Grammy puts her heart and soul into the reunion and we love going. Turns out we all needed the rest though. Matilda built forts with Sam and the girls loved hanging out in there with their Daddy. We strung up lights inside it with the addition of plenty of pillows and blankets. Sam woke up this morning to find Guinness in there! Ha, we are all creatures of comfort aren't we? I used the down time to organize a few things over here. I added this page that has some of my favorite posts all in one place.
Sam worked on the most amazing baby gate for our stairs over the weekend. Pictures coming this week! I am so impressed by his handyman skillz. Since we didn't feel like cooking lunch Sam picked up some Taqueria Tsunami. Can't believe I didn't mention it in my "favorite places to go in Marietta" guest post. We only go at least once a week! I am crazy about their aloha taco and they have the best guacamole. Side note: have you ever seen a happier baby? Even though B was sick and teething, girlfriend was lovin' on some chips. We set up a backyard picnic and it was more than she could handle!
Matilda and Sam shared the short-rib quesadilla and the avocado egg rolls (both delicious). I have to tell you I was just a little warm in my jeans. The south is not ready for fall just yet. We on the other hand can't wait and made pumpkin smoothies (which you may have seen on instagram) and pumpkin bread. I was pretty happy about both. I had a lot of time to dream and read and think this weekend. Really thankful for that!
Hope you had a restorative weekend, too!
