Happy List 01

Sometimes I'm confused about what people like to read on the internet. I mean, it's kind of a mystery. I for one like to read snippets of people's days, to look at pretty pictures and the occasional recipe. To gain insight into motherhood, faith. I love lifestyle blogs for this reason, because they are almost like micro, personal magazines. Sometimes I think social media is keeping people from reading anything at all. Everyone I know says that people aren't coming to visit their sites as much. It makes me sad! While social media has a place, who can really keep up with it all? What do you guys think? I wanted to start a new series with just things that I'm grateful for and that make me happy. Happiness is contagious. I think it's a really awesome practice to write down things you're grateful for because then when everything hits the fan you can stare gratitude in the face. Here's this week's happy list:

Apples. Apples, I love you. I really like to eat them and just this week the girls have loved eating them whole. There is no peeling involved, no cutting and it keeps Phoebe from climbing on the furniture for a good ten minutes. Here they are watching Daniel Tiger which Matilda put on specifically for Phoebe. She is an incredible sister. Phoebe has been sick and has another ear infection and Matilda strolled her around the house in her stroller and when she fussed she took her out. I'm so grateful for their bond and sisterhood.

Flowers. Oh man, I love them. I pretty much always have a bouquet in the house. I don't know how it happens but I'm so in love with them and love seeing their beautiful faces in my kitchen. My adorable neighbor is the most fantastic rose gardener. She brought me this bouquet and picked the biggest roses for me. She is the best. She brings us hot meals and just honestly nurtures my soul daily. Looking out and seeing her garden is such a gift. She works in it each and every day. She is a Godly woman and just inspires me. My mama brought me those fringe tulips below for Mother's Day. Have you ever seen anything so lovely? The prettiest pink!

Ok, so I've already mentioned my glass straws. It may seem silly but they make me happy. I use them with my coffee, my lemon water, and everything else. They're perfect for smoothies, easy to care for.

Last but definitely not least, I am thankful for a vacation! We are headed out of town soon and I loved your advice on facebook about traveling with a toddler. You guys are keepin' it real and I love you for it. I also know you're 100% right, but just because I like to plan I ordered this to go under our tent and these just because they're adorable.

What is making YOU happy?
