LWG Challenge One Month Recap

I hadn't really planned on writing this post so closely to the two week recap but I've had some pretty big milestones in my journey to living a healthier lifestyle and I wanted to share them with you guys in case you find yourself to be where I was two weeks ago. You see I put off changing what I was eating and trying to exercise because I was convinced that it would be too hard and take too long to be worth it. I love food! When I wasn't losing weight after the initial weight loss I was super discouraged. THEN something really amazing happened. I had Sam take my picture for @lwgchallenge on the 30th day and I was blown away by the changes I saw. I'm so glad we took pictures because otherwise I would have had no idea!

The changes I've seen have been subtle and gradual. All of a sudden my pants weren't quite as tight and I didn't have as much "overhang" if you will.  I'm not having to force myself into this new "lifestyle" any more, I'm just living it! That feels really awesome for it to be completely natural now to cook mostly vegetables + protein meals and to stay away from sugar. I don't even think about it. I walk every day and I don't have to think about that either. I crave it (read more about that here). I just want to encourage other moms out there that are struggling with losing the baby weight or getting in shape to just start! I'm not killing myself at the gym or starving myself and it's just coming off. You can do it, too!

I want to be a good role model for my girls. What better gift could I give them than a healthy mama? I'm so much happier and I love being active with them. It's my favorite kind of quality time. I love watching them run and dance. Matilda is having a Michael Jackson moment (unintentionally ;)). I get really emotional thinking about all of the time I've wasted feeling like I couldn't do any better for myself and that I couldn't get back to where I was. I love proving myself wrong and more than anything want to inspire other women to do the same! Please feel free to ask me any questions in the comments!

This was for lunch after our trip to the Farmer's Market: burgers with sweet potato fries, guacamole and my favorite sweet ginger chili sauce.
