Modern Chicken Coops

Sam and I have been talking a lot about urban farming (see pin board here), creating a simple life and making a little plot in our back yard. When dreaming up the back garden we are researching incorporating a chicken coop. Here are some amazing modern chicken coops that I love, may have to do some city campaigning to change some ordinances (apparently there are these things called laws ;)).

First up is this soprettyithurts coop from The Art of Doing Stuff. Everything about it is perfect, right down to the clever storage, color and hardware. Those lanterns? Yup.

This red coop is completely charming. We would most likely stick to the color palette of our patio but the structure itself is right on track with the clean lines.

The tin roof on this one is a fun element we would love to add. We really wanted to put one on our house but couldn't swing it. This way at least the chickens would have one? ;)

We obviously have a lot to learn and more research to do but we hope you'll join us as we figure it out. Do you have chickens? I'm a chicken sponge right now so anything you want to share would be amazing.
