A Weekend at the Farm
We just got back from a special weekend away at our dear friends' farm. Joni and Chip have become close friends over the last year and it was such a treat to be able to experience a place that is so dear to them. Joni and Chip along with their family designed this amazing home on their family's property. Just incredible. You can see stunning glimpses both here and here. Joni's eye is pure magic and being around spaces that have her touch on them are just a blessing.
Joni shared this of V and M and I just love it!
The girls loved getting to explore and be "free." This last couple of weeks has been really challenging with behavior and setting boundaries. I think leading up to school and the first initial weeks has really taken its toll on Matilda. Have you experienced this with your kindergartener? I've been second guessing all of my parenting and just been feeling quite overwhelmed. There have been multiple meltdowns a day and I just feel helpless. Structure can be so good but I'm trying to find that fine line that allows her to be herself and to dip her toes in this new chapter.
I love how serious these two are while they are painting! I think we need a little more of this in our life. Instead of an afternoon of cartoons I want to start reading this with the girls and doing art to relieve some of the stress of the day. I think those quiet moments of decompression are so good. I've also been bathing the girls separately and having long talks with Tilda after putting Bee down. I think that's been something that we've been missing for sure.
Wish I had gotten some photos of me and Joni! Always last priority when little people are around to take a lot of photos but I'm glad I have a few. I love these photos that Alea snapped of Joni. So beautiful! Hope everyone had a great weekend. XO
