CHASING THE PRETTY
I was writing my post for Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine today which always gets me thinking. I was talking about truths in my life right now (the post will go up here on wednesday) and one of my truths is that I haven't painted my nails since October. I have naked nails. I hate naked nails.
As a mother it is so incredibly easy to neglect yourself. You're exhausted those first few months after welcoming a new baby and the last thing that I want to do when I have a spare minute is to cook a healthy meal or exercise or shower for that matter. I just want to chill. However, when it comes time to get dressed to meet girlfriends I regret all of those decisions. Nothing fits right now and I'd be lying if I said I didn't care. Life has just been so nutty that I'm craving comfort food and I'd rather spend money on things for our home than on new clothes.
I'm so amazed by these women (see here, here, here, and here) that look flawless and have multiple children. I mean, it just blows my mind. This week I'm working on taking baby steps to feel better and to feel pretty. I think I'll start with shaving my legs.
