Whipped Coconut Body Butter + Peace & Calming Epsom Salt Bath
Happy Labor Day! Is it terrible to admit that I don't really understand what this day is for? Not complaining about the long weekend and I'm off to look that up. First! If you follow me on Facebook you may have seen a little announcement that I have started a new and totally amazing adventure with essential oils (you can read more here!).
I've had a couple of wonderful friends share essential oils with me and I'm so grateful! At the time though I just did not understand how they worked and it was overwhelming. That's why I want to share what I'm learning and to really simplify how to use oils and I am learning more and more cool uses for them every day. I wanted to go through all of my new oils and share uses for each one. First up is Peace & Calming. I don't know if it's my inner hippie or what but this oil speaks to me! It smells like patchouli but with a feminine twist.
Below are two ways to use it. It's also a wonderful oil to use on kids at bedtime. Dilute with coconut oil and apply to their feet OR you can take a little bit and give their heads a little massage. This allows for the oils to naturally get on their pillows and then they'll breathe in those relaxing aromas. Love.
Whipped Coconut Body Butter
You will need:
- 1 cup solid coconut oil
- 3-4 drops of essential oil
Add both to a mixer and beat for about a minute. You can use this as an amazing moisturizer or shaving cream.
Salt Bath
You will need:
- 1/4 c epsom salt
- 3-4 drops of oil
Take oil and drop onto salt in measuring cup. Slowly let bathwater pour into the cup to disperse the scent and the oils throughout the bath.
